I will be the first to admit that I am a girlie girl. I grew up in my Grammy’s garden and playing tea. (Yes, I even kept my pinky up like a proper english girl.) Dressed head to toe in dress-up clothes and dripping with ornate jewelry. I learned an appreciation for full, bright blooms and delicate little petals at an early age. I learned how to polish my Grammy’s silver and how to properly care for things you cherish.
When I found this photo, by designer Dorothy Draper, of this room I fell out of my chair, I am not joking. I love it. I love the green walls, red carpet, gold mirror, detailed mantle and that chair! Talk about the perfect floral pattern. I die.
How adorable would a wedding based off of this room be? We always tell our brides to bring us whatever they pull inspiration from. I’ve designed weddings off of a single picture of a living room, to full pinterest boards. Your wedding reflects you, and this wedding inspiration board reflects Dorothy Draper. Just like a flower must grow through dirt, events take shape over time and a carefully thought out design process. We like to think that our events are like flowers, and we take care of our brides just like they are the perfect rose.
I love the detailed, white wedding gown to mimic the white mantle and picked this ring to be as special as the bride. To pull in hints of the chair how amazing are these floral envelope liners. I would set this wedding on a gorgeous lawn with a big white tent. Long tables with flowing centerpieces of greenery and big blooms like this bouquet.
