This weekend is a very special weekend. It may not be a huge holiday, but it is a weekend to recognize moms everywhere. I may not have a children of my own to call me mom, (although I am about to own a puppy) but the older I get the more I appreciate my mother and everything she has done. She is one of the strongest, most caring and giving person I know. She is my best friend, and she always has been. She has taught me to work hard and never give up. Recently my of my precious cheerleaders mom sent me the following note that my cheerleader had written in class, “My hero is my cheer coach. She makes us work hard, and I admire her because she is like my Mom. She makes us stronger, and she is nice and loving.” I guess my mom really is rubbing off on me and I can’t thank her enough. In addition to my very own mom there are so many women to celebrate this weekend; my “second mom” Suzy, my “CC” moms Shannon and Julie, my soon-to-be mother-in-law Claudia, my soon-to-be sister-in-law (who is about to have a baby of her very own) Megan, my mothers of the bride, my clients that are moms, my friends that are moms and so many more women that stand in as a “mom” even when it may not be their biological child. Moms, no matter where you are celebrating I hope you have a moment to find your favorite chair, book and sweet treat to toast to you. Cheers, Mom! Happy Mother’s Day!
