Meet Me Monday: Weekend Recap

Hello and happy Monday! Happy St. Patrick’s Day, too; are you wearing green?

This weekend was so much fun! The past couple of weeks have been a bit crazy. If you have been following me on Instagram (@CL_Events) you know that my dad recently had a shoulder replacement that lead to a quadruple bypass heart surgery. I can’t thank you all enough for your prayers and can’t thank the Lord enough for giving me time with my family and taking care of my dad! In the midst of being with my family we had a fabulous CLE wedding in Tulsa and I can’t wait to share images from The Salty Peanut Photography, from Wisconsin, with you!

Needless to say with a very busy schedule my Mr. @bmfrederick has been so supportive from a far. With me in Tulsa and Blair in Houston I knew being together this weekend was going to be packed with quality hangout time just doing what we wanted. No agendas, just loving on my hubby!

Friday night started at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo! Blair is on the Mutton Bustin (Seriously, click this link and watch the YouTube video, it’s the cutest thing I ever did see!) committee and I am so proud to have a husband who volunteers for a good cause, Plus, he looks pretty good in his cowboy boots and official outfit if I do say so myself. 🙂 However, Friday he wasn’t working and we went to hang out with his family to see Keith Urban!

Saturday I had high hopes to spend the weekend outside, but the rain created a change of plans. Instead we took a trip to Tiny Boxwoods (It’s basically my favorite place in Houston, and I am dying to plan an event here!) for the best salad and chocolate chip cookies ever! The rain let up for a minute so we stepped over to the Thompson+Hanson Nursery for flowers!  I had my floral leggings on and umbrella in hand; I was ready. I was so exited to be in my happy place. After we picked some beautiful delphinium, pansies and other gorgeous blooms it was time to load the truck! Afterwards we stopped by Selby’s house. She is my adorable friend who is getting married to one of Blair’s friends, Brad, (yes, we played match maker with these two) to talk wedding and see Margie, Selby’s wonderful mom!

Sunday morning began with church followed by a visit to Plants for All Seasons with the CLEMascots Remi and Landry! We found more beautiful flowers; hydrangeas, sweet pea, jasmine, indian paintbrush and more for the yard! Our afternoon was spend giving our flower beads a facelift, and I can’t wait until all of these beautiful flowers are in bloom! Last night we spent with Blair’s family and friends for a wonderful dinner with great conversation!

Of course during the weekend CLE had a wonderful anniversary to celebrate! Tamara and Braden were married last March at Bridle Creek and they filled that lodge with so much love from friends and family. I can speak for the entire CLE Team when I say that I hope their first year of marriage has been nothing but wonderful! Happy First Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Braden West! You can take a peek back at their special day on Facebook, and the Blog. To celebrate their anniversary I had the amazing Debi griffin of Illustrative Moments recreate Tamara’s wedding dress! How fun is this, and how talented is Debi!

First of all – what an incredibly generous gift! I love these illustrations! I am soon to be featured on the Classic Bride blog, and while I was checking out the site, I noticed this cool idea to have an illustration done of your wedding dress… then I see your name! I exclaim (to Fred) “THAT’S MY FRIEND CHRISTINA!” 😀 xoxoxoxo
