Wow! What an amazing Event Season we had at Christina Leigh Events! It was such an honor to work with amazing creative teams and I know I say it time and time again, but our brides, grooms, birthday girls and clients are the absolute best! Over the next few weeks I am going to recap these events so that you can see a peek into why we truly love what we do!
Sweet Lindsay, where do I begin? I was first introduced into the family with a meeting with Lindsay’s mom, Debbie. Lindsay lives in Arkansas so her sweet mom wanted to meet with me first to talk business before Lindsay could make it to Tulsa to see if we meshed well. Just as any consultation my number one goal is to make sure we are on the same page. Let’s just say my meeting with Debbie and then my meeting with Lindsay were a total of 2 hours, each! We definitely meshed well and were off to a wonderful start! We had 13 months to plan the big day and we were off and running!
For Lindsay and Travis the CLE team executed full design and coordination, and what a blast it was! Lindsay was 110% trusting in letting me source her fabulous creative team from all over the US for their special day! Lindsay’s one request was we get purple into the decor somehow so that Travis could celebrate his time at Kansas State University. Little did Lindsay know, we were going to get that purple in there!
The church was stunning with candles lining the aisle and Lindsay’s 9 bridesmaids and Travis’ 9 groomsmen! You could feel the love in that sanctuary!
The reception was elegant with ombre shades of purple and pops of magenta, yet fun with watercolor place cards and hand calligraphy escort cards from the fabulous Sally at La Happy! We pulled 6, yes SIX, different linens from Nuage Designs to pull together a fabulous palette of colors and textures. Everything from sequins and velvet to ruffles and chevron, we had it all! Ms. Laura’s Cakes pulled all of the textures throughout the room into a fabulous cake, The French Bouquet Tulsa executed the florals, and to add a little more fun we strung over 1,000 yards of white satin ribbon above the dance floor! Lighting is one of my favorite design elements and OMNI Lighting was able to take my design and execute it. We changed the lighting in the room three times throughout the night and had a fun lighting and a custom monogram on the dance floor.
One of my absolute favorite, I mean FAVORITE, parts of the wedding is for the bride and groom to see their reception before their guests. We took Lindsay, Travis and Lindsay’s parents in the back entrance of the ballroom and that moment was perfect. It’s a way for our couples to see everything they have only seen on paper and in inspiration form. It’s a moment to take in all of the detail and soak in the fact they are now married and get to celebrate their marriage with their friends and family. Lindsay was so excited, Travis thought it was awesome, and Lindsay’s parents were so appreciative with how the room looked and felt. I even started tearing up!
Of course the wedding wasn’t all design. We were in full swing planning and coordinating every step of the way. With a conversation at least once a week I’ll be honest, it’s a little hard letting go of our chats about seating charts, all that is a wedding and life. 🙂
Above all Lindsay and her mom were amazing to work with every step of the way. Lindsay is beautiful on the inside and out and I love working with moms! I truly mean it when I say our clients become part of our family! They have been such a blessing in my life, and what an honor to be part of such a special time. I can’t thank you all enough for allowing me to plan Lindsay’s wedding. I could go on and on about how much fun we had and why it is so important for every bride trust your wedding planner, but I will let my Instagram pictures and this AMAZING video from PenWeddings speak for themselves.
Stay tuned to the CLE Facebook page for images from Josh McCullock Photography when they become available! I know they are going to be incredible!
Congratulations again Lindsay and Travis! I am jealous of your time in Jamaica and wish you all your happily ever after! Lindsay, I’m ready to plan your parents anniversary party when you are. 🙂
